Frequently asked questions Q: Can I keep bees in the city? A: In many cases yes. Many cities and towns have ordinances that specifically allow beekeeping. This includes, Tulsa, Broken Arrow, and Owasso. Q:Can my 2 brothers/sisters/best friends just like family/etc. come with me under the family rate? A: Please, the family rate is designed to encourage families(spouses, parents, children) to keep bees together, Please don't abuse this just to save some bucks. Q: How much does it cost to get started? A: Costs vary, but in general you can get started with a hive of bees, and basic equipment for around $500.00 or less. Q: What about kids? A: We always welcome children, however, please keep in mind that other people have paid their money for the class also. So children should not be permitted to disrupt. Q: Do you offer scholarships? A: No, we have done this in the past with little success. The reality is, if the class fee is prohibitive to you, then beekeeping will probably not fit your budget.
